Introduction
One of our 2007 WWR 3 day race license school students will win a free entry into our 2008 Bridgestone F2000 Racing Series season! The best 2 students we select from each 2007 3 day WWR race license school will win a FREE invitation to participate in our season's end "2007 Bridgestone Academy WWR Grad will Win a Racing Season Competition" test. This ½ day (3 session) test that will include only the top 12 drivers from our 2007 3-day race license schools.
Lap times will form only a part of the selection process. Other items to be judged include; risk management, smoothness, accuracy, track learning, discipline, and focus.
Eligibility is limited to drivers who have never competed in a Regional Car Race, a School Car Series Race or any form of Automobile Pro Racing. Additionally, Bridgestone Racing Academy staff, family members, sponsors, Mechanics Training Program students, Mosport employees or family members and Sunoco sponsored karters are not eligible for the GDT.
Damage Responsibility
Should a race car be damaged, drivers are only responsible for up to $2500 CDN in any single incident. Considering it is only fair that drivers have this minor amount 'on the line'. This is really a bonus! Consider that the next time you get in a race car, you may not enjoy this consideration and be accountable for the entire cost of the race car!
Wheels Off Fines
While there are many advantages to a driver development track that doesn't contain the 120 mph sweepers, walls & guardrails of Pro Tracks, one of the deterrents can be the comfort / safety level. Some of the more aggressive drivers may feel comfortable with exceeding their capabilities, and thus they may slide off the track.
These seemingly innocent slides through the dirt & rocks eventually require additional maintenance. For 17 years it's been our philosophy that the clean drivers shouldn't share in the cost of this unnecessary / extra maintenance. Thus, only the drivers who choose to exceed their capabilities & skid all 4 wheels off the track are asked to pay $100 CDN towards the maintaining of the fleet.
Please note that several of our courses have no wheels off fines applicable.
