Bowmanville, Ont. - Oakville, Ontario native, Tyler Comat enjoys first outing in a Formula 2000 car to out drive the other competitors in this new in '06 opportunity at the Bridgestone Racing Academy & Series.
Tyler won a free entry into a $3990 3 day license school and the $11990 full 9 race 2007 Bridgestone F2000 Racing Series through this $1790 half day (4 sessions) test that provided him with an incredible 1 in 24 odds of winning!
Driving sessions included shifting, a lead-follow drop-back warm-up session and 2 judged lead-follow pass-by lapping sessions.
Judged items included; risk management, smoothness, accuracy, track learning, discipline and focus.
Second place finisher Igor Bespalov was also impressively quick, but lacked the smoothness and technical proficiency that Comat was displaying.
Eligibility was limited to drivers who have never competed in a Regional car race, a School race series or any form of Pro car racing. Additionally, Bridgestone Racing Academy staff, family, sponsors, Mechanics Training Program students, Mosport employees or family members and Sunoco sponsored karters were not eligible for the RDT.
The Bridgestone Academy has booked another Rookie Test Day opportunity in the spring of '07 before the '07 Series starts.
